About Me

Hello Sycamore Families!

I've been an educator since 2016 and am currently in my fifth year teaching middle school at Sycamore Academy. I’ve been a California-certified teacher since 2017. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with students in both elementary and middle school, as well as in special education, which has given me a broad perspective on student learning and growth.

Before becoming a teacher, I served in the United States Marine Corps as a Combat Engineer for 23 years and retired in 2015. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from California State University, San Marcos, in 2007 and completed my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix in 2015.

I’m passionate about helping students build confidence, think critically, and reach their full potential. I believe in creating a positive, respectful classroom environment where every student feels supported and challenged.

My goal in teaching is to help students become resilient, hardworking, and disciplined individuals. I also strive to help them develop strong teamwork and communication skills—essential tools for success in school, their future careers, and life in general.

Outside the classroom, I enjoy family time, cars and motorcycles, working on construction projects around the home, and spending time with our pets. My wife Lisa and I have developed a tropical fish hobby over the last couple of years, and we share our home with four dogs. Our newest addition is Rocky, a 12-week-old Aussie Doodle who’s quickly found his place among our other dogs—Bodhi, Sascha, and Evi.

Together, Lisa and I have six children: Marissa, Emily, Adrian, Tyler, Jack, and Asher. We are incredibly proud of all of them and excited to see the meaningful paths they are pursuing in their lives.

I’m excited to see what my students can accomplish in the 2025–2026 school year. I look forward to meeting my new students and their families and establishing a trusting and productive relationship with all!
