Science Showcase
This year's Science Showcase will be on Thursday, October 26th. Students will complete science projects at home and share their results with everyone. They are welcome to choose a project that explores any scientific area of interest as long as they are able to conduct an experiment that is testable and measurable. They should avoid choosing a project based entirely on research or a simple demonstration. Detailed science project instructions and resources can be found in the links on the side of the page and don't hesitate to reach out with any questions. You will also find a copy of the student packet if any pages are lost or missing.
Parents and families play an important role in helping students complete their projects but remember, the students are responsible for completing the work. The easiest rule of thumb is to remember that adults can do things WITH students, but not FOR them.
Please do:
- Help students locate materials and resources.
- Help students operate any potentially dangerous equipment or materials.
- Help with planning and time management.
- Help with data analysis.
- Allow students to practice giving their presentations with you.
Please don't:
- Take notes, collect data, complete observations or write conclusions.
- Design or build projects
- Write presentation scripts for students.
- Select sources for students.
- Assemble project boards.
